Until today we knew nothing about this money, although we had heard rumors. But today we both received letters from the government, telling us that the money was an advance on a planned increase to the Old Age Pension, and would be taxable. It will be sent to us via whatever method we normally use to receive our pensions i.e., direct deposit. We can expect this to happen August 16th. Now we all know what there is to know about this money.
