I found out last evening (Thursday) that David had asked Loren to list the snowblower on Kijiji. Loren arranged for a fellow to come around last night, and was here to meet him. A few minutes to check the machine out, a quick exchange of cash, and the snowblower went away in the back of a truck. both Loren and David were joking that they should have asked for more, but then both were happy to make a deal without a lot of dickering. David now has money for a good start on paying to have someone come around to cut the grass next summer.
Reading your posts tells me that we all have plans, of some sort, for celebrating Christmas. Certainly not the Christmas we remember from home on Maplewood, but rather a Christmas to suit the families we have now. Traditions evolve, as they should, but we have our memories, and can now look back on them and appreciate the effort and $$$ it took to make them. I'm thinking about home today as Dr. Phil had a couple on who were dealing with the wife and mother developing the type of early onset dementia that Mom had. Her children were younger than you were Cathy, but she was at a slightly earlier stage. It made me remember how the three of us had to face the possibility that we had inherited the gene that caused it. This woman had fallen prey to scammers who had taken her for over $500,000. At least Dad never had to deal with that.
A week till Christmas--7 sleeps. Do either of you feel the anticipation building? I hope you're lucky at Meat draw Cathy, and I hope Beth gets all her baking done. Me? I'm still doing laundry.
