Unexpected events.

Friday, and into the weekend were strange days.  Friday morning, David had a slight problem that resulted in blood all over the bedroom floor and a quick trip to the doctor.  All's well, but the doctor decided to check his blood, so a trip to the lab.  This was all before breakfast, so, after the doctor and lab, we were looking for breakfast.  Over the years, we've developed the habit of eating out for breakfast, following our doctor's appointment, as they're usually very early in the morning.  Our favourite place has been Tim's, but David wanted a little more this time, and it was Smitty's- during the early lunch rush.  But we got our breakfast, and headed home.  Put a load of wash on, but by that time, we were both ready for a nap, so both headed to bed, waking up about 6:30.  Our show tickets suggested that we be there 45 minutes ahead of show time.  Sounded strange, but when we arrived we found a full security clearance, similar to the ones at airports.  And several long lines waiting to go through.  Everybody was friendly and cheerful though. The show was what I had expected, an one-man impressionist.  The show was titled "Birth of Rock'n'Roll, and he did close to a hundred different people. he also jokingly talked about breaking into show business in Quebec. I hadn't realized that he was Canadian. A bit of a problem developed when he lost his sound system for a few minutes in the middle of the show.  It was obvious that he was quite worried about it, even though he filled the time telling jokes. I had wondered if we would see much, since there was just one man performing, but they had big screens on each side of the theatre.  While he was portraying various singers, he included facial expression, so being able to see his face close-up was a real bonus.  I thoroughly enjoyed the show.  I don't think David did.  We hadn't expected to stay awhile, after the show, but we did well on the penny slots and didn't leave until 2:00am.

Saturday we got the wash finished, and not much more.  Sunday morning I went to Selkirk for a meeting, and when I got home, David tells me that the doctor himself had phoned.  Evidently David is anemic, so the doctor had made an appointment with a specialist, and wanted to let us know.  Unfortunately, David didn't write down when or where the appointment was.  But checking the phone, we discovered that we get notices of messages on every phone, not just the base station, so noticed that there were two calls.  Yes, the doctor's nurse had called, leaving the info about the appointment, and the Doctor himself had called asking us to call him back.  This must have happened Friday, later in the afternoon, maybe while we were both sleeping.  I tried to call the office and leave a message about getting their messages, but wasn't able to, so called first thing this morning.

Then I called the carpet cleaners.  They were actually able to come today, showed up about an hour ago, and just left.  So now we have to spend the rest of the day not walking on the living room, hallway or bedroom floors.
