Busy week?

I seems like I was run off my feet, but when I look back, no particular thing stands out. The stair lift was a wonderful idea and past time we bought it.  The next thing on the list is Victoria Life Line.  We've had a couple of instances where one of us has fallen,  and the other hasn't heard the calls for help.  We've got the info, and discussed it, and I'll be calling them Monday.  We both know that this will mean a lot fewer trips to the casino, but that will just have to be.

Loren has been quite ill, but Gillian and Jeremy have been dropping in and making sure he eats.  He may have to go into work a couple of times next week, but just for short periods.  I sure hope that this doesn't keep him out of commission for too long.  The basement is still a major trash heap, but I have access to my sewing table, machine and iron.  I'm happy.  I have one more machine stitching chore, and then it goes in for servicing.

We now are signed up for Amazon Prime, mainly for the access to videos, although most of them appear to have an extra charge. Now I can slow down in my watching of Midsomer Murders, as I'm no long working to a deadline.  I may even watch on the actual tv tonight, as it's listed as a new show.

David continues to putter in the garden.  He really loves it out there.  This week the Mock Orange is in full bloom and looks wonderful.  He's cleaned out around the bottom of it, and cut out a lot of dead wood, so it's a much smaller bush than it has been, but I wonder if it's not healthier.

Thursday,  he had to clean out the bird feeder and, to a certain extent, sterilize it.  This meant washing it as much as possible and then soaking it in a 10% solution of bleach and water.  It's now all aired out and hanging with a small amount of feed in it.  But we have the second feeder, so the Blue Jays can continue to enjoy their peanuts.  The neighbour tells us that he's trapped 3 red squirrels in his rabbit trap, and re-located them to Bunn's Creek park/trail.  We've still got at least one of the buggers in our yard, so, for the first time I'm glad he has a rabbit trap in his garden.

This afternoon, I'm meeting Gail, and two other ladies, for coffee.  I plan to add a trip to the grocery store in the outing.  Trying to make food more appealing to David is wreaking hell on my trips to the scale, and the pants we recently bought because I've been getting larger, almost no longer fit loosely.  My only option is to try, yet again, to get back on Dr. Phil.  I know it's the snacking that gets me in trouble.  That and the liquor.  I'll miss both of those, and I anticipate a struggle.

So wish me well, and, as always, stay safe ladies.
