Made it back for a few minutes.

I'm reading a book.  I have re-discovered Colleen McCullough, she who wrote " The Thorn Birds".  I'm early in the list of publications, but have discovered a series of police procedurals that are quite different.  This writer comes from a very high level medical/research background, but is writing books that are almost like a British drawing room farce. They also have a cohesive and complex plot.  There are far more social/family activities, than usual in this genre, with the plot running beneath like a gold thread that you see regularly but from the corner of your eye.  I certainly plan to read more from her.
