Staying at home can be an adventure

I had mentioned picking the cherries.  We got the juice made and it wasn't very much, so David went out to pick more cherries.  He noticed that there was someone at the gro-op next door, so went to the door, and asked if we could pick the branches that were hanging over their yard.  She said yes!  Truthfully, if the gate hadn't been padlocked, we might have just gone in-despite the security cameras. So, more cherries, and in the end, enough juice to make two batches, which we did this morning.  Not without a quick trip to the store for more lids though.

The recipe said that it would make 5 1/2 cups of jelly, and this was also what my memory indicated.  We had just enough jars, but the recipe, for some reason, made 7 cups.  After all the picking, and cleaning etc we weren't going to waste 2 cups of jelly, so it's sitting in the fridge in a 2 cup measuring cup.  I have no idea how it will be used.  But we have solid, very flavourful jelly--a real treat.

By the time everything was finished, we were both beat.  Time for naps.

No pans for tomorrow.
