Rain

We spent all summer praying for rain and now it won’t stop. I think it is too late for the farmers now. They may be able to get some sunflowers or field corn off later but I think the rest is garbage. Some farmers still have a few thousand acres of crop to take off. The potato farm Jim works for got about 1/2 of their potatoes in. There is more rain forecast for this week so I think they are done.  Jean took us to the casino last night for jim’s Birthday supper. Kind of funny when you realize that today is her birthday!  We usually take her for Chinese in November. Just how it works out. I lost all the money I took, but it lasted me all evening so I got pleasure from the outing. Jim heard back from veterans  affairs on his hearing aid only we are not sure what is happening. Because his application was not processed until after April 1, ( yes, they are months behind) he is no longer eligible for a disability. He is now under the Pain and Suffering act(?).  He is eligible for a small (very small) monthly payment but it also came with a blue cross card and we think he is eligible for support from blue cross but there was no explanation with the letter. He is planning to go back the Brandon next week and try to find out what is going on. Clear as mud. He really needs a hearing aid. His hearing is getting worse.  Other than that life goes on.
