Where do I start?

Today I had to deliver a fibre art exhibit to the Gallery in Portage la Prairie.  We loaded the car and left by about 11:30, then stopped to buy gas and a wee snack (10 Timbits).  Got around the perimeter safely and through Headingly, but the sky looked pretty grim ahead of us.  Soon we were in a cloudburst.  It's been years since we were on a highway and into such heavy rain.  With a  speed limit of 110k, traffic was down to 60k, and even that was scary.  And then we ran into construction.  But we finally made it to Portage.  Found the Gallery and followed the instruction to go to the back door and ring the doorbell. Carried the exhibit in ( it took David two trips), and then got the "bum's rush"out again.  Not even a chance to use the bathroom.  So we found a Tim's and took the opportunity to have a quick lunch.  Just about froze to death.  Then home, and into even more construction.  Unfortunately, this time the speed limit kept going up and down, and drove David crazy.  Once home, we took a few minutes to just sit in front of the tv.  David was really exhausted, and we talked about how our tolerance had diminished with age.  We used to think nothing about driving all day through every back road in Manitoba and Minnesota.

A few minutes after we sat down there was a huge bang, and the power went out. A blown transformer.  So no chance to prepare, and we just had to wait until the Hydro responded.  This was at 4:45, and we had been watching the last few hands of  high stakes poker tournament.  Never did find out who won. So I took my book outside, and David stayed to read his.  hah!  I think he fell asleep almost right away.  It was cold outside, and I needed a jacket, and then had to deal with strong winds, but I could read.  Finally I came in about 6:00 and woke David up and then realized that, without power he couldn't get out of the recliner.  We dealt with that  in time to see the Hydro truck pull up outside.  David went to supervise, and found out that we had another dead squirrel.  By this time it was 6:30, and time for supper.

Absolutely nothing else was accomplished today.  We're both looking forward to sleeping well tonight.  Even though tomorrow is laundry day, I have a massage scheduled and plan to enjoy every minute of it.  With all that went on, the muscles in my neck are screaming.
